The construction of this amazing and fabulous structure began around 1632 and was completed in the year 1653. During the construction, as many as 20,000 artisans and craftsmen from different ethnicities and cultures were put into service. The responsibility of design and construction of Mughal architecture was under the supervision of Abdul-Karim Ma'mur Khan, Makramat Khan, and Ustad Ahmad Lahauri. It is considered that Lahauri was the key designer of Taj Mahal. This monument is the greatest devotion of love shown by the king to his queen.
